Schiffbau
Schiffbau Zurich, in the vibrant and centrally located district 5 and just a stone’s throw away from Technopark, is the core of the Digital Festival.
From September, 26 to 29, 2019, the Digital Festival unites digital makers in Zurich. Whether hackers, managers, scientists, programmers or CEOs, we focus on the individual. Over the course of four days, we combine hierarchies, functions and industries in one place, build bridges, and create Switzerland’s most relevant, interdisciplinary and future-oriented community.
We focus on visionary thinkers. We bring pioneers, digital movers and shakers to Zurich, who challenge existing structures and think in new ways. At the Digital Festival, the international world of technology discusses the major topics of the digital future – always with regard to the challenges and opportunities for the Swiss economy and society.
At the Digital Festival, we do not dazzle people with buzzwords or lengthy talks about what is possible in Silicon Valley. Instead, we prefer to create lasting inspiration by encouraging people to exchange opinions and discover new approaches. To this end, we have created platforms which everyone can actively participate in and contribute to, and on which technology can be experienced.

The ZHdK is one of the leading art academies in Europe and moved into its own campus in 2014: The Toni-Areal, a former milk factory, became an educational and cultural center - a unique project of its kind in Europe. For the first time all disciplines are united under one roof. The study and research program includes design, film, fine arts, music, dance, theater, transdisciplinarity and mediation.
